watercolour sketches

I was denied a permission to paint college of engineering ,as it is a heritage structure and i had no permission from archeological department!! so i have sketched it from sitting in a car on the road outside .The colour touch ups are done later.

I am surprised by the denial of permission to sketch and paint a building! What harm does it make to an heritage structure, I wonder? Or is it some stupid interpretation of some law?

These rules are funny. You can photograph certain locations but can't paint.recnetly I was not allowed to paint by costguards near seashore. You can paint Hutatma chowk but you can't paint Crowfard market in Mumbai

yes atul and ajay, its a stupid interpretation.Even in ajanta, hampi, ellora, photos are ok but no drawings. One has to apply and get the noc from archeological dept. any way ...

You did a wonderful job, even if it was hurried and from the car.

Great work - authorities are a bit wierd sometimes - someone tried to stop us painting Table Mountain once! He thought we should pay for the privilege.

(My team's last chance to get into the playoffs today! I went to some of the games in CT and really enjoyed them - especially the opening day)

hi liz, lucky you!! yes the war is heating up for 3 rd and 4th places.best wishes to your team.how cold is it? is it winter all over or only in blufentine?

Oh Sanjeev you have made me laugh! That's the first time I've seen Bloemfontein called that, but I guess it was cold enough for the blue! It's quite warm in CT 25 deg but it gets very cold at night inland, especially Johannesburg. My team won - in the semis maybe!
