i got a call from art 2 day for attending a painting camp at Panhala.I have already done the same place last year and the dates were clashing with other tour,so i declined.But my memories of last years camp came alive,and after seeing my paintings album, i felt like posting them to share with you.

saras gardens

sras Baug (garden) is a popular place for all age groups.It has lawns,trees,temple,eatables out side..inshort something for everyone to enjoy.Posting some paintings done there some months back.

calligraphic watercolours.

I am sharing some of my initial watercolourpaintings.I had started using a flat brush and was painting in calligraphically, meaning was holding brush only vertical and making broken lines as calligraphic strokes.Now i have come out of that phase!!...but sometimes it is good to introspect about ones earlier works too.I had not even started to sigh my paintings then.

As i mentioned earlier,i am trying to combine watercolour paintings with sketches or say sketches with watercolour! i did these on sunday.The scafoldings or props for renovations at university buildings were interesting elements to add as sketch feel.

i spent sunday in a shaded university,as it was very hot out there.Was in amood to sketch than paint.posting two out of 7.You can view some on the blog urbansketchers.

mahuli house

Next sunday i will be in mahuli to do some paintings.Though it is summer time , and very hot out there, i need to revisit that place( 2 hours drive from my place) just to improve on my earlier paintings! i am posting my last visits painting.

watercolour sketches.

I am experimenting with various styles of sketching.I am trying ink and pen,ink and crayons,ink and markers,pencil and ink and my most favourite, watercolour and inkpen...I am doing this because i wish to do quick travel sketching on my upcoming tour in May.One these experiments i am posting.With various media ,i am trying of different papers too.You will some of these in coming days.

Some times after packing my watercolours and brushes,i do black and white sketches.They are for time pass,study of a spot,practise sketches,or for future references.I enjoy playing with colours,so posting both.

roofs

Certain section in the university of pune always attracts me to paint.This is a spot, where you see mostly roofs of the buildings at various levels.There is a lot of scope for composition studies at this spot.Very favourite outdoor spot for most of local artists.

This is more of a sketch than a painting.It is one of the narrow roads in the heart of the city,in morning time.

i am posting few streetscapes,just as i got bored of village scenes and lots of green colour!These are done over last 5 years,as various times and loacations.Theae are streets in the heart of the city called Peths.I am not good at drawing vehicles and people,so just imagine few..well imagine lots of them in these pictures!!

I was avoiding to post this painting,as the perspective of left hand side lines has gone wrong!...But i like the over all scheme so with due apologies to all iam posting it.This is also done twice in last few years.

I was at pune university and did 3 drawings of the building i had posted couple of days back. There was one more version done sometime back,which i am posting here too.The angle of the building is slightly altered as there were lot of red ants around onthe rearlier spot.!!

two houses at revdanda

Being an architect am inclined to draw structures of all kind.My senior artist friends alway remind me to see objects as forms and shapes,which i try to,still my love for houses is evident in my number of houses.These are two houses drawn recently at a place called revdanda.

fergussion college campus

This was done couple of years back and presented to a friend after framing.Recently i saw it in his house and clicked it .To avoid reflection on glass the picture is at an angle.When i see my old works i feel the progress, the ageing, the maturity ,the lack of spontaniety...! etc.

building at university

done last summer.Now will do it again next sunday!!

wall of temple

this is a painting done of a wall surrounding the templecomplex.It is built in bricks using arches as decorative elements.The fortification was a requirement of olden times to stop invasion from Moguls.so mostly we find all temple protected by high security walls.
