I painted/ sketched this historic temple complex this sunday 15 may 2011.In india, temples are not only religious places, but much more than that.In this complex, there is a place for small scale marriges, and other ceremonies like naming of the babies etc.Its also a place for eledrly people to cometogether and have a social interaction.many young ones come and study in the tranquil atmosphere of this temple.And ofcourse painters like us can also sit and do our art.In short, its a great place for all agegroups...

fergusson college,pune india

this is my sunday hobby,so last sunday i was at fergusson college campus to do paintings.The old heritage structures are very difficult to draw in details,so i have drawn only the impressions of the whole picture..I have used sketchpen,and watercolour in all three paintings cum sketches..

Diveagar painting camp.

I had gone to a fishing village called diveagar,on coastal area of maharashtra.Its a wonderful place with lots of coconut trees and beach.Posting some impressions of the place in the form of my sketches.

month of december

the month of december in india is best for outdoor painting.it has just the right amount of chill in the air,with blue skies and warm sunlight.Its a pleasure to sit in the sun and paint in the month of december.I did two outdoor sessions last two weeks .i am posting some results of those sunny days.

istanbul visit nov 2010

I am not posting regularly on the blog,as there are more visible sites like facebook and urban sketchers etc.i have decided to post only the travel sketches or paintings on the blog,as every week posting becomes repitative.i hope all understand this.I visited Istanbul on the way back from my participation in biennale du carnet de voyage at clermont ferrand,france.I am posting some sketches done during my 2 day stay in istanbul,turkey.

expo 2010 shanghai

last week i visited shanghai expo 2010,i did some fast graphical sketches as i ahad no time for proper paintings . A simple black pen and small pad becomes handy in such situations.Drawing any building makes one look at the structure carefully,hence observation becomes important!!..
Shanghai expo has about 200 countries having pavelions ,showcasing their technological and cultural progress.It was fun visiting some of these country cases.

friendship day

Very rarely i draw humanbeings as i am not good at it..but on sunday, being a friendship day i did few watercolour sketches.I also did my usual landscape sketches of monsoon before i did these.posting some for this weeks work.
