I visited mumbai on sunday, to see an exhibition at Jehangir art gallery. On way to the gallery i did sketches of some colonial structures.i am posting them here.
fort area is full of such gothic architecture. third painting creates that feel. Rajabai tower looks little dwarfed (may be because no adjoining building or tree is drawn which could have provided some refernce point to compare height)
Hi Sanjeev This is fantastic! being originally from Mumbai, I have been to Fort area so many times, but this provides sucha fresh perspective of things!
yes ajay i was sitting on the busstop bench so could see only top portion,I cant imagine tower without its clock!! it is looking dwarfed...Frankly i did all sketches in fast mode and put washes at home,so didnot think much as an artist, which i shoud have done. Thanks for your input. Sandeep, ghar ki murgi is always dal barabar!!
Hello Sanjeev. Just found your site and I have been attracted by the colours you use in your paintings. I have been posting some old Indian water colours on my site which you might like. http://indian-influences.blogspot.com/ Keep up the good work.
Hi, Nice paintings.....even i cant imagine how you make those paintings while you are on trip......you are always successful in capturing mood of location....
